There's been a bunch of whiteboard and spreadsheet talk on the Gyro Step lately: which players the Milwaukee Bucks can build around, who should the Bucks trade for what picks, who are some free agents Milwaukee could pull off a complicated sign-and-trade to acquire, etc. It's been too long since Ti Windisch and Rohan Katti got to just talk ball. So that's what this episode is: they draft members of the current Bucks roster by simply who they are most excited to watch during the 2026-27 season. Contracts, trade value, and even minutes per game aren't a factor. It's all ball.

We're officially in August, the driest time of year for NBA news. Ti Windisch and Rohan Katti start this mailbag Gyro Step podcast episode by covering "news" including former Bucks signing elsewhere and Kel'el Ware working out with Hakeem Olajuwon before getting to the questions asked by listeners.

Tyler Herro apparently got in an altercation with Bam Adebayo, Gary Trent Jr. got a contract so bad everyone agreed it was cap circumvention, the Bucks reportedly may trade for Peyton Watson, and oh yeah we saw Brayden Burries, Nate Ament, and other Bucks play in Las Vegas Summer League. Brayden Burries has dazzled in Las Vegas Summer League and it looks like the Milwaukee Bucks may have gotten a steal at 10 overall. Ti Windisch hopped on for a quick solo pod as he couldn't wait until the next scheduled Gyro Step this weekend to discuss Burries game and how he looks more dynamic on offense than he expected at this stage. The Milwaukee Bucks solved their roster crunch and added a pair of nice 2027 second round picks on Tuesday night, sending Taurean Prince and Gary Harris to take back Caris LeVert and both the Bucks own 2027 second plus the worst of Dallas/Brooklyn's second.

Finally a trade had perfect timing for the Gyro Step, so Ti Windisch and Rohan Katti broke down the deal and why they like it before moving onto cover the California Classic summer league. They go deep on Brayden Burries' debut on Monday night plus cover other key summer league players like Bogoljub Markovic and Kam Jones, and then preview the Las Vegas Summer League starting Friday.
