I recently setup a new HF rig in my Ford F-250 and along with it, the Tarheel HP-200 Screwdriver Antenna that I have had in my possession for a while. Let's take a look at the antenna and my mobile HF Radio setup.

I picked up the DigiRig DR-891 sound interface, which is specifically made for the Yaesu FT-891 radio. The FT-891 doesn't have its own built-in sound card, so this interface is a great step towards making the FT-891 plug-n-play. Let's take a look at how to set this up and how simple it is to make FT8 contacts from POTA with this DigiRig.

I caught up with Joe at the Huntsville Hamfest of 2024 - the ComJot CJ-1 Project is coming along nicely and is now available for purchase. Soon there will be 2 versions of this device - one that is fully integrated with Google, and one that has Google completely removed. Both will run Android 14 and both will have Dual Band, Part-90 2-way radios built in. This is going to be a fun project!

On Friday, August 16 of this year, we met as a group at the Monte Sano State Park in Alabama before the Huntsville Hamfest. This is our 3rd year to do this type of meetup - myself and other YouTubers all gather and invite our audiences for a fun-filled day of POTA at the State Park. @AA0Z volunteered to cook lunch for everyone again this year, and asked for donations to cover food costs. All donation money received above and beyond expenses is being donated to the ARRL Teachers' Institute. During this livestream, we will offer a recap of that event, present Steve, K5ATA, with the earnings from this year, and learn more about the TI program at ARRL.

Updates to the Gigaparts Super Store in Huntsville, AL have been huge since it opened 5 months ago. Today I walk through the store again, seeing how many changes have happened since March of 2024 - it is now August 2024, so let's see how the store is doing!

On Sunday night, after the Huntsville Hamfest of 2024, a small group of us went to a local brewpub for dinner and drinks. This is the livestream from that outing, where I ask people, "what was your favorite thing about this Hamfest?"
