Ham Radio 2.0

Today I get to unbox a brand new radio from Guohetec (how do you pronounce that??) - This SDR radio will go from HF to VHF and UHF, and will do DMR, plus APRS. Let's take a look at the menu system and user manual, and let me know in the comments what video you would like to see next.

You can save a $10 discount with coupon code FRTPWPMCMFKQ on this radio at the link below: http://hr2.li/5irmz

This is a story I found about Radio Shack, which is the place where I bought my first Ham Radio, the HTX-202. I wonder what is in store for the company and if they were offer any 2-way radio products in the future. Let's take a look....

The OpenSPOT is the best Ham Radio Hoptspot on the market, in my opinion. The OpenSPOT 4 is the latest version and on tonight's Livestream, we will go into a deep-dive through the menus, talking about all its features, how to do cross-modes, and also talk about the SharkRF Link App for your phone.

This is a story I found online in a few places, including the FCC's own website. A CB Operator was caught using an Ameritron Amplifier and asked to stop - no fines were issued yet, according to this article, but I wonder what will happen if he doesn't comply with their warnings.

Elecraft announced a new pocket-sized HF Transceiver this weekend at Pacificon, so now I wish I had gone to that show! *sadface*

But it is already available on their website with details about the specs, accessories and capabilities of this new transceiver that they are calling the KH1. Let's take a look at it and see what we have in store!

Today I welcome @TheSmokinApe onto the channel to talk to us about the TinySA, available from R&L Electronics, and how to test for clean/dirty signals from specific radios. We will test a Baofeng radio and also one of my Yaesu Radios - maybe more.
