Daytime talk icon and former mayor of Cincinnati Jerry Springer has died at the age of 79. His pioneering show ran from 1991 to 2018 and was known for its profanity-prone guests who often had to be restrained by on-set security guards as audience members wildly cheered. Striking federal public servants will continue to receive their regular salaries until at least May 10, according to the government, though they will likely have their pay clawed back at a later date for the days they had spent on the picket line.
