There was an abundance of dueling political ads during Game 5 last night – sponsored by third parties, of course. No matter who attack ads target, the question that is asked during every election season is ‘do these ads work? Or are they a waste of money?’ Meanwhile, debate still continues around the use of the word “genocide” in the report on missing and murdered indigenous women, girls and two spirited people. Is it a matter of the term being used in too academic a sense, or are people just hesitant to see it that way? Or is it something else?
Guest: Elissa Freeman. Public Relations Consultant, Huffington Post, Canada.com and PR Daily

Emily O’Brien went to prison with a mission: to change her life. When she left, she started Cons & Kernels, a popcorn company that uses high quality health-conscious ingredients and makes unique flavours inspired by the ones we made inside prison. It also gives her an opportunity to take away the stigma of ex-convicts. She joins Scott to share her story of popcorn and prison, and her appearance on Dragons’ Den.
Guest: Emily O’Brien, founder of Cons & Kernels
