The City of Hamilton has forced a local group to remove the anarchy symbol from its headquarters, calling it “hate material”. The City claims they took direction from Hamilton police, but police say that’s not the case. This comes more than two months after a group of masked individuals clad in black marched on Locke Street, carrying a banner that said “We are the Ungovernable”, along with what appeared to be the anarchy symbol.
So what exactly constitutes “hate material”?
