The Phoenix pay system may cost as much as $1 billion to fix, according to Public Services and Procurement Minister Carla Qualtrough. The federal government spent $309 million implementing the system and has spent another $400 million trying to fix it.
Public sector workers are being overpaid, underpaid and paid late under this system and there’s no end in sight to these issues.
