This week on the PWRP, we wait with baited breath for the return of King Of The Nighttime World Tommy Wonder to make his momentus comeback the Professor flies solo.... Or does he??? Big Ray surprises the Professor as your Executive Producer is a time machine stowaway! The boys travel all the way back to August 1985 for the AWA "Wrestling for a Cure." This show was held in Boston, Massachusetts at Northeastern University and was broadcast on local Boston television. The show was a benefit show for muscular dystrophy that drew 5,000 people in attendance and lasted only 2 hours. The matches were kept much shorter than normal due to the time constraints of local TV and the local personalities. The announcing was awful, with a play by play man that was a local TV personality that made Eric Bischoff sound like Jim Ross and Killer Kowalski who was inaudible most of the night which led to hilarity and plenty of funny! This was a pretty srtra studded card featuring a Singles Match with Bob Backlund vs. Larry Zbyszko! An AWA World Tag Team Title Match which had The Road Warriors (Road Warrior Animal & Road Warrior Hawk) (c) vs. The Long Riders (Bill Irwin & Scott Irwin)! was have Greg Gagne vs. Steve Regal and Billy Robinson vs. Brad Rheingans! in a double main event we have for the AWA World Heavyweight Title, Rick Martel (c) vs. Nick Bockwinkel and we cap the night off with the "Evil Russian" Boris Zhukov vs. Mr. G.I. JOE Sgt. Slaughter! aLL THIS AND MUCH MORE!!!!
