1 hr 20 min - Ep37: Growing up in the 2000s Ft.
先简单盘了盘 2021 上半年，聊了 Polo G, Lil Tjay, 美剧"The Good Fight" 第五季开播，Netflix 纪录片"High On the Hog" （不看简直不是人了）
Some notes:
其实我们都爱过 Black Eyed Peas 的 “Elephunk” ;
Def Jam 群雄割据，大哥带小弟的阶段 ;
虎逼大哥 50 cent 那阵火得简直不像话;
R&B 女歌手的常见主题 ;
“Old Kanye” era;
Rest In Peace DMX;
亚特兰大这帮人，不上不下的T.I，有货的 Jezzy， 真正接近当今trap风格的还得是糙大哥Gucci Mane;
超级制作人：The Neptunes, Timbaland, Dr. Dre;
Lil Wayne Young Money 影响力深远，直到现在还在疯狂客串年轻人 ;
休斯顿四大天王（老林总结的）：chamillionaire, Paul Wall, Slim Thug, Mike Jones, 以及休斯顿特有的汽车文化（再往回倒就是UGK）;
Tracklist:
“International” - Chali 2na, Bennie Man
“The Ruler’s Back” - JAY-Z
“ Anything But Ordinary” - Avril Lavigne
“The Potion” - Ludacris
“Yeah!” - Usher, Lil Jon, Ludacris
“Where is Love” - Black Eyed Peas
“P.I.M.P” - 50 cent
“Broken-hearted Girl” - Beyonce
“Foolish” - Ashanti
“Umbrella” - Rihanna, JAY-Z
“Slow Jamz” - Kanye West, Twista, Jamie Foxx
“We Right Here” - DMX
“Icy” - Gucci Mane, Jezzy, Boo
“We Belong Together” - Mariah Carey
“Lollipop” - Lil Wayne
“Still Tippin’ “ - Mike Jones, Paul Wall, Slim Thug
“Dilemma” - Nelly, Kelly Rowland

“If you study the culture and art of African Americans, you are not studying a regional or minor culture, what you studying is America. The access, the root via the culture of people in this country is interdisciplinary, it’s provocative, it’s reflective, it’s about you and me. “

If you would like to discuss this with other subscribers or get access to bonus episodes, visit hidesssss.substack.com1 hr 51 min - ep32:
