Dan Hampton, Ed O’Bradovich, and Kevin Powell react to the Chicago Bears’ 23-20 loss to the NFL’s best Detroit Lions in another heartbreaking loss on Thanksgiving Day.
Caleb Williams turned it on in the 2nd half, throwing for three touchdowns for 222 yards, setting up a chance for the Bears to tie the game with 3:31 left. Before the game’s last play, the Bears had 32 seconds left with one timeout remaining. The offense got to the line with 13 seconds left and didn’t snap the ball until 6 seconds left, resulting in the final play, which was incomplete to Rome Ozdunze when the clock hit zero with one timeout remaining.
With that loss, head coach Matt Eberflus now has a record of 5-17 in games decided by seven or fewer points, winning 22.7% of those games and ranking 221st, making him last among coaches with at least 20 games that close.
The Hamp & O’B Show returns on Sunday, December 8th, as the Bears (4-8) head to San Francisco for a showdown with the 49ers (5-6). The Pregame show is from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., and the Postgame show with highlights and reactions is from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
