So many people reject Christ in pursuit of freedom. We want to do what we want with our lives, but there is a real risk in loving something else more than Christ. You either follow Him completely or you reject Him completely. It can’t just be a surface level following, Jesus wants it all. 

There is nothing new under the sun. There have always been people around Jesus but not truly following Him. Oftentimes we want a loophole and we want to game the system. But that’s not serving Jesus, that’s just serving ourselves. This is a heart issue. You need to give up the right to call the shots in your life.

Stay focused and refuse to associate with who you once were. You can’t plow looking backward. There will be competing loves in this life but fight distractions and take up your cross daily. If you’re in Christ, you will endure until the end.
