But we are Disney fans and observers of all things political. Not to mention we have opinions! We try to stick a little more to facts about the developing drama that is the Reedy Creek Improvement District kerfuffle that is ongoing in Florida. We spend most of the time talking about that, but also get into a couple lighter news stories including new snacks and a private islands and some initial opinions about Disney World's newest thrill ride.

Today, we continue Candice's trip planning series by looking at pricing for one of our listeners. Heather responded to one of our posts on Facebook and told us what kind of a trip she is looking for and Candice is getting pricing to help her plan. This is not intended to be a sales series but an informative one because we know there is a lot that goes into planning a Disney trip. Heather is a runner and is interested in visiting during a Run Disney event. Candice planned out a trip that includes park days, deluxe accommodations, running schedules, and plans on how to navigate during her stay. Pricing is accurate as of the release of this podcast on April 24th, 2023.

In today's episode, we embrace the season and release a bracket that is all about Disney Side Characters. There was some debate about what really constitutes a side character, however, Lariah was the bracket master and she said all of these fit the bill. We had to pivot a little bit in the middle to make the bracket work, but I think we came down to a good elite 8!

Today, Lariah wants to go to the Epcot Flower and Garden festival, but since she lives in Nebraska, she simply can't make it.  So, she decided to bring some of it home with her and make this mocktail from the Berry Basket Outdoor Kitchen.  We are not sure when the last time this booth was open for the Flower and Garden Festival, but this fun drink is a holdover we wish we could still find. The Berry Basket Outdoor Kitchen made its first appearance in 2017.

This recipe includes mint simple syrup, berries and green tea.  If you truly want to make it a julep, you will need to add a shot of your favorite bourbon!

In today's episode, we take a little bit of time to appreciate Disney Cast Members and share stories of fantastic experiences we have had.  From custodial staff doing the Disney dip to security guards that made our day.  Food service workers who went above and beyond to characters that want to take us out on dates.  

This is also a great episode if you have a passion for customer service.  We spend some time talking through how you can help bring magic to Disney by being kind and making the cast members job easier.  Disney customer service is second to none and we talk about a few of our "Disney Service" moments when we were not in Disney as well.

In today's episode, Lariah takes on the task of sharing some of the worst rated rides around Disney World.  She talks about some that surprised her like the Carousel and some that will be on her "Must replace" list like Astro Orbiter.

We are glad you are here.  Today we start another brand-new series that we are super excited about.  This is going to be all about recreating Disney food and drink at home. Because of some illnesses running around the Hangar bar crew, we were not able to get together for this one, but will include all four of us soon.  

Today though, Scott and Candice bring and old familiar treat to their home kitchen.  They attempt to recreate Lefou's brew.  This treat that can be found at Gaston's tavern in Fantasyland is a treat that has lots of memories and nostalgia.  We started here because it is a familiar flavor that we could compare to the real thing.  In the future, we are going to recreate recipes, treats, cocktails, dinners and desserts and bring you all along for the ride.

The recipe we used today came from Disney Dream Co and can be found here: LeFou's Brew 2.pdf (disneydreamco.com)

This simple recipe is as follows:

1 cup heavy whipping cream, cold

4 tablespoons Mango Juice

4 tablespoons of Passionfruit Juice (we substituted Guava juice at the recommendation of the internet)

12 oz can of frozen apple juice

1 cup (or so) of ice cubes

1/2 cup Marshmallow Syrup

Whip up heavy cream, mango juice and passion fruit juice in a cold bowl for about 3-5 minutes on high until you get soft peaks.  Store in fridge.

Add frozen apple juice, marshmallow syrup and ice into a blander.  Blend until you get a slushy consistency.

Poor the mix into a cup and top with the whipped cream mixture.

It is delicious...give this recipe a try and let us know if you agree with our very scientific measurement scale.
