She was bored at work and an idea she’d had for a few years grew into a full out story. She started by writing characters the way she wanted, but they kept changing, so she surrendered and edited as needed so they could lead the way. It's odd, but it was as though the story was alive and needed to emerge. From her debut series, Nova Nocte, centered on what happens in Central Florida after the outbreak of zombies to her latest release Nightmare House, Melissa plans to keep on writing for both herself and as part of the Dark Alley Crew. Melissa has been living and working in the Orlando area over a decade. During this time she has worked at both Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando Resort. She has a large extended family, a loving wife, and two evil but loved cats. Melissa grew up in Columbus, Georgia and visits as often as possible. She graduated from Bridgewater State University with a Bachelor of Science in Education and Sociology. A native of the Massachusetts South Coast, she taught in an inner city elementary school before moving to Florida to teach in a rural setting, and then in her own neighborhood. Fast forward a few years, and she's now a crazy blessed wife and homeschooling mom to the two sweetest kids you'll ever meet (she's also super biased). When she's not homeschooling or writing, she's mentoring moms through Mom Mastery University, sharing essential oils, and planning super fun events for her kids and their friends (although her own kids have yet to be impressed, being that every event has some sort of learning snuck in to it). She loves God, books of all kinds, traveling, taking selfies, and escaping into her imagination, where every child is happy and healthy, every house has a library, and her hubby wears coattails and a top hat 24/7. In October 2015, Kerry attended a conference and was reminded by mom coach Hannah Keeley that she had a dream, and that dream was to make her long-held vision of becoming a novelist, a reality. The moms she met there and her friends at home wouldn't let her forget it, and the next month she started the historical fiction mystery-suspense-romance she'd always wanted to write. While interviewing soldier friends for military information several months later, one theme kept coming up - PTSD. He currently lives in the Tampa Bay Metro area with his wife. Steve has four daughters and three loving cats. He’s an avid reader who also enjoys bowling and spending time at amusement parks. He loves to travel, take trips to the beach, or just laying around the pool spending time with family and friends. With his vivid imagination, he enjoys writing children’s and young adult stories. Steve had aspirations of being a writer when he was young. He took a journalism course in high school. Life, however, as with most people, took him on a different path. He joined the Air Force after high school and spent four years serving and protecting this country. Steven went straight into the Marine Corps as a 2nd Lieutenant, and at the end of the next 3 1/2 years was a First Lieutenant, Company XO in the Combat Engineer Battalion. John holds degrees in English Literature (BA, Binghamton University) and Creative Writing (MA and MFA, Wilkes University.) He has been an editor and writer for national magazines. His stories and poems have appeared in The Endless Mountains Review, Southern Tier Images, and Midwest Poetry Review. He’s presented papers for the National Council of Teachers of English and The John Gardner Society. His scholarly works are included in collections at The University of Rochester. A high school English teacher, John lives with his wife and children in the misty Endless Mountains.
