The first two are published by Midnight Marquee Press, the third by Helm Publishing. All three books deal with real actors making real films and being involved in fictional mysteries and were each nominated for a Rondo Hatton Classic Horror Award for Book of the Year. An accomplished character actor with over 25 years stage experience including an engagement at Carnegie Hall in New York City as Sergei Diaghilev in Anna Pavlova, a biographical ballet he co-authored, Kemper recently appeared in the independently produced Sideshow Cinema ghost story, Evan Straw written and directed by Michael Legge. Legge and the Medway Players performed Kemper's musical comedy, The Wizard of Oz Murders in 2010. Kemper appeared six years on stage as Herr Drosselmeyer in The Nutcracker, as well as Doctor Copellius in Copellia, and Catallebutte in Sleeping Beauty. He is also a stage illusionist and member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians. As Murder for Hire’s Producer and host sleuth Detective Chief Inspector Kemper of Scotland Yard, Kemper presents original mystery plays for hotels and bed and breakfasts throughout the United States. Dwight Kemper is also a film critic for Phantom of the Movies' Videoscope Magazine where he applies his "critical chain saw" to really bad movies. Writing and acting talent runs in Kemper's family. His great, great aunt is author Gertrude Stein and his great uncle is character actor Charles Kemper. Kemper illustrated two of his three novels. He wrote quite a bit when he was younger but was struck with a tragic case of adulthood. He has recently taken up the hobby again and is thrilled that some folks have deemed his work worthy enough to show the public. He has yet to receive a literary award, but he did get a gold star on a middle school English paper once. His work has been published in Sanitarium Magazine, as well as the World War I horror anthology “Kneeling in the Silver Light.” His short story, "Tethered," is available on Amazon Kindle, and his first book, “Greetings from Barker Marsh,” will be released in the summer of 2016. He lives in Florida with his beautiful wife and daughter. John Catapano saw his first horror movie double feature at age three and was instantly hooked. He spent many hours at the local theater over the years seeing thousands of movies especially genre films. As a young man he built all the Aurora Monster model kits and read Famous Monsters of Filmland every month. He majored in Mass Communications in college and learned about the history and production of film. His adult life to date consisted of working in the entertainment industry and teaching and lecturing at many colleges and universities. C.W. Briar grew up in woodland country near Barton, a miniscule town in Upstate New York. He currently resides near Binghamton, NY, the birthplace of Rod Serling and spiedie sandwiches. His first published work was a short story included in a 2012 anthology. Briar's stories focus on fantasy and sci-fi threaded with quiet, traditional horror. His fascination with toothy, dangerous creatures, both real and imaginary, influences many of his works. Briar has an Industrial & Systems Engineering degree from Binghamton University. He has worked as an engineer on various helicopters, airplanes, and train. His interest in theology and philosophy led him to earn his certification in apologetics through Biola University.
