  • Crappy to Happy HL56
Ever felt broken or found your life in need of repair? The good news is that God loves to fix things. The bad news is many are embarrassed their life needs any kind of improvement at all. So, instead of giving God the hammer, many decide to try and fix up their lives on their own, when the master architect, designer and builder is waiting right outside the front door of our life, ringing the doorbell with His tool belt on. This is backward thinking.
In this episode I talk about one of my wife's and my favorite HGTV shows "Fixer Upper" starring Chip and Joanna Gaines. I find it interesting that when it comes to buying or remodeling a house, we have no problem asking for help or hiring professionals just like Chip and Joanna, to come in and do their handiwork. Knocking down walls, replacing cabinets, ripping up floors. We know the house needs work so we simply get the help we need. No questions asked or regret felt. I believe our lives are a lot like houses. Fixer Uppers in continual need of remodeling. Constant reconstruction. However, when it comes to us and our broken hearts, mental pain, personal nightmares, bad habits, or other sad states of affairs, we have a difficult time getting or admitting we need any kind of help at all. This is why we feel crappy. But be encouraged, the journey from crappy to happy is pretty simple. So listen and be encouraged. You are of high value and God made and loves you just the way you are. Ding Dong. Someone's at the door. Are you going to answer it?

  • Back Roads HL55
When it comes to our goals, dreams and plans, most would pick the interstate so they could arrive there as quickly as possible. Because when it comes to success who wants to drive 55? After all, Life is a Highway and I want to drive it all night long. However, sometimes life takes the back roads instead. But that's OK. The back roads actually have a lot to offer that one will never ever get from taking the highway. I know this, because not only do I march to the beat of a different drum, I also take the road less traveled, so I happen to be an expert on back roads. Don't get me wrong, originally I had planned to take the quick route to success and changing the world, but God had a different plan for me and I've noticed that I'm not the only one. Listen and be encouraged. You might just change your mind about the back roads and enjoy the ride of life a lot more. Life is a back road and I want to drive it all night long.

  • Happy Wrong pt. 2: Black Mold HL54

This week’s podcast is a continuation of last week’s episode (Happy Wrong HL53) where I interviewed a hero and friend, Tony Piantine. We talked on the way from the airport, about what to do when suffering tries to steal our happy. In this episode, we continue on with that conversation and deal with another thief that may be even worse than suffering when it comes to stealing one’s happy. It’s a topic not many talk about. In fact, I've read that the less someone talks about it, the more they probably have it. This topic can be very dangerous, like black mold, and if it’s not dealt with correctly, it will do major damage. Much like black mold, most of the damage will be hidden inside and unseen to most and will ruin our happily ever after. This episode might just blow your mind as we talk about what the antidote of this happy thief really is.

  • Happy Wrong pt. 1: Happy Suffering HL53
Is it possible to actually do happy wrong? I think a lot of people believe that to be happy, they must eliminate the unhappy; delete, numb or ignore the negative and then increase the positive; do something fun, buy something new etc. If happy depended on circumstances, then why are some of the happiest people in some of the roughest situations?
Whenever bad comes along, God often gets the blame. “If God loves me, then why…?” When in reality, God came to give us happy in the midst of the ugly, the despair and the negative.
So just how does one do happy? Listen as I interview a modern day hero and dear friend in my travels. We talk about the correct and simple way to get the happy.

Special thanks to James Kocian, professional songwriter/producer for the new music. He’s written music for major labels, artists as well as TV/film. I can’t believe we are able to use his music. We are blessed and honored to have him as a part of this big happy family.
