If you could trade homes with someone, whose house would you live in? If you could trade athletic or intellectual abilities with someone, who would you be like? If you could trade physical appearance with someone, who would you look like? We’re always comparing our lives to others, but Jesus wants to free us from the trap of constant disappointment, and help us to find true contentment.

If you’ve never stolen a car or held up a bank, you might think you’ve got the whole “Thou shall not steal” thing down. But Scripture lists dozens of ways we steal — from our employers, friends, families, and God. The good news is that Jesus came to free us from our slavery to money and stuff, so we can be joyfully generous instead.
