The most important thing when it comes to executing change at any level of your dealership, or any business, is YOU. It is impossible to expect change or improvement of the business, or the team you are leading, without first changing what you are doing. As a leader you give life to the purpose, create the culture, and build for the future. So, if you come in everyday doing the same things, the same way, you’re going to end up right back where you started. When you set out to change a result, in any form, the first thing you need to look at yourself in the mirror, and understand what is it that lead me to this result. It’s only when you start to view things differently, and change YOU, will your result change. The market is changing, new car inventory is no longer scarce, used car prices are coming off inflated highs, and by all definitions we are in a recession. Dealerships and owners will start to lean on Fixed Ops to keep everything steady. But there is no reason to fear, now is time to separate yourself from the pack and build a bulletproof service department to capitalize when times are rich.
