Alison speaks fluent rom-com, lives for 90’s WB dramas, cries to Taylor Swift, and is a proud single mom to her two incredible kids and one poorly-trained dog. Bad Luck Bridesmaid is her first novel.

The author of Born a Crime, Trevor Noah, likely needs no introduction. is a South African comedian, television host, and political commentator. He is the host of The Daily Show, an American satirical news program on Comedy Central. Born in Johannesburg, Noah began his career in South Africa in 2002. He had several hosting roles with the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) and was the runner-up in the fourth season of South Africa's iteration of Strictly Come Dancing in 2008. From 2010 to 2011, he hosted the late-night talk show Tonight with Trevor Noah, which he created and aired on M-Net and DStv. In 2014, Noah became the Senior International Correspondent for The Daily Show, and in 2015 succeeded long-time host Jon Stewart. His autobiographical comedy book Born a Crime was published in 2016. He hosted the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards in 2021.Noah has won various awards, including an MTV Africa Music Award and a Primetime Emmy Award from eleven nominations. He was named one of "The 35 Most Powerful People in New York Media" by The Hollywood Reporter in 2017 and 2018. In 2018, Time magazine named him one of the hundred most influential people in the world.

The Hate U Give is perhaps one of the most recommended novels in the entire genre of YA, and for good reason. This novel discusses a variety of themes including identity, blackness, identity AND blackness, the weaponizing of stereotypes against black people, racism and police brutality, community and loyalty, and the cyclical nature of racialized poverty. Concrete Rose is the much-anticipated sequel-prequel published just after The Hate U Give.
Angie Thomas was born, raised, and still resides in Jackson, Mississippi. She is a former teen rapper whose greatest accomplishment was having an article about her in Right On! Magazine. She holds a BFA in creative writing. The Hate U Give is her first novel.

The author of The Black Flamingo, Dean Atta is a British poet of Greek Cypriot and Caribbean descent. He has been listed by The Independent newspaper as one of the 100 most influential LGBT people in the United Kingdom.
Born to a Greek mother and Jamaican father, he earned a BA degree (2006) in Philosophy and English from the University of Sussex, where he was president of the African Caribbean Society. His poetry, which often deals with questions of identity and social justice, has been featured on BBC Radio 4, and he has been commissioned to write for museums and galleries including the Keats House Museum, the National Portrait Gallery, London, Tate Britain and Tate Modern.

The author of The Priory of the Orange Tree, Samantha Shannon is a New York Times and Sunday Times bestselling author. She was born in West London in 1991 and started writing in abundance when she was twelve. She studied English Language and Literature at St Anne's College, Oxford, from 2010 to 2013, specializing in the poetry of Emily Dickinson and Principles of Film Criticism.
In 2013, at the age of 21, she published The Bone Season, the internationally bestselling first installment in a seven-book series of fantasy novels. Its first sequel, The Mime Order, was published in 2015, and the next, The Song Rising, in 2017. The fourth installment, The Mask Falling, is her most recent work, published in 2021. Her first book outside the series, The Priory of the Orange Tree, was a finalist in the Lambda Literary Awards 2020.
