This week we start a new series called "Devoted" where we will be journeying through the book of Acts, the New Testament account of the life and witness of the early church. This week we will consider this call of Jesus to be his witnesses who wait on the leading and empowerment of the Holy Spirit.

“If only” are words that often speak to the pain and desperation that exist within our hearts and minds. The good news on this Easter morning is that Jesus, who is the Resurrection and the Life, meets us in our pain and desperation with what we need in order to bring us into new life.

Title: Nothing to Prove, Something to Give

What matters is not what we do for God. Jesus Our Rescuer calls us to “abide” in Him so that His life can “bear Fruit” in us. What matters then, is what God does first in us, and so then through us. It is God Himself that rescues and transforms this broken world into a “new heaven and new earth,” even when He does a small part of that work through one of us.

So often what we set our hearts upon, and try to find rest in, only leaves us weary, burdened, and lifeless. However, Jesus steps in as the True Vine inviting us to make our home in Him and find rest in His work.
