Hardwired with Jeff Wickwire

In the book of Acts, Paul and Silas are thrown into prison in the city of Philippi. But instead of complaining to the Lord about their situation, these two faithful servants began to sing praises to the Lord! Soon enough, an earthquake struck, and the prison doors were thrown open! Pastor Jeff reminds us today that the difficult times we face in this life are opportunities for us to grow in faith and patience. Instead of seeing our trials as obstacles, let’s thank the Lord for yet another opportunity to grow!

God doesn’t just know what’s going on in your life now, He knows what’s going on yesterday, tomorrow, last year, and ten years from now! While you and I deal with time as a straight line, the Lord sees the beginning and the end all at the same time. In today’s message, Pastor Jeff wants to teach us that God knows what is going on at all times. When we face trials and tribulations, it’s not because the Lord has abandoned us. He may be using these tough times to make us grow stronger in our faith!

Some hobbies are hard to pick back up when you move on from them for a long time. You may get frustrated when you go to pick up that guitar again, only to realize that you don’t have the same amount of skill that you used to. But Pastor Jeff wants to remind you today that the most important thing you can do is to go back to the basics. If you’ve drifted away from Christ, the easiest way to get back to where you used to be is to return to the things that made you feel passionate for Jesus when you first started following Him!

The difference between the Levite priests and our great High Priest is like the difference between a single match and a lighthouse. A match will provide a little light and burn out quickly. But a lighthouse can cut through the darkness and guide ships safely to shore. In today’s message, Pastor Jeff wants you to recognize that the divide between man and God is too great for us to cross on our own, but our High Priest, Jesus, has bridged that gap forever with His gift of grace!

Every wicked and evil thing in this world has an expiration date! While injustice has reigned in this world for a long time, the Bible also tells us that there is a day coming when Jesus will make everything right. The Kingdom of God is one of justice and peace, and it will never come to an end! Pastor Jeff reminds us today that the image of a King of justice and peace has existed since the book of Genesis, when Abram encountered Melchizedek, who, in his own right, was a king of justice and peace.

This world is full of surprises! Every single day, someone finds out that they’re expecting a child after years of infertility, a long-lost relative comes home, or an unexpected promotion happens in the workplace. But Pastor Jeff wants you to understand today that none of this comes as a surprise to God. As Jesus directs the apostle John to write letters to seven churches in Asia Minor, you’ll learn that Jesus already knows everything that was going on in their congregations, and He knows everything going on in your life.

When you start taking antibiotics to fight an infection, you don’t get to see results right away. In fact, you may even get sicker before things start to turn around! In today’s message, Pastor Jeff wants to remind you that even though the world around us is lost in darkness and getting darker by the minute, that doesn’t mean that things are on that trajectory forever. The divide between good and evil will grow wider and wider as we approach the Last Days, but the Lord will still have the final victory.

The Lord has a habit of using the enemy’s own plans against him. In today’s message, we learn about the heavenly witnesses who will testify in Jerusalem during the Antichrist’s reign. Pastor Jeff teaches us that these witnesses will be under the Lord’s supernatural protection, and so even though they face violent attacks from those who hate the Lord, His name will still be glorified! Pastor Jeff wants us to recognize that even the Antichrist’s evil reign is part of God’s plan to restore order to the world.

Nothing happens in this world without God knowing about it! While you and I think of time in terms of past, present, and future, it’s all the same to God! Pastor Jeff wants us to understand that He exists outside of time and space, and His plans for the world were made long before you and I were ever born! The Bible tells us exactly what is going to happen as our world hurtles into the last days. The best thing we can do is to read it, take it seriously, and warn others to repent of their sin!

Have you ever come across someone who seems to be perfectly placed in this world to oppose you? Well, Pastor Jeff wants to remind you today that the enemy wants to attack you, along with every other person who follows Jesus! Now, not every person who does you wrong is being influenced by a demon, but Satan does influence people to become stumbling blocks to keep believers from drawing closer to Jesus! Pastor Jeff encourages you to keep your eyes focused on Jesus as you resist the devil’s schemes.
