**Hark! It's the first episode Bonus Material!**

With each main episode we're intending, as an addendum, to look at the actual books we've got - compare editions, artwork and presentation. So, here's the first one. We all had the same (nearly) edition of Cop Hater, so we also look back to earlier releases.

Thanks for listening. Book Two is "The Mugger"!

**Welcome to Hark! The 87th Precinct Podcast.**

This is our first podcast looking at Cop Hater (1956). Paul, Morgan and Stephen look at Ed McBain's background, what was going on in 1956 and start to set the scene for the book.

Finally, we get into some detail about the book. This episode is probably longer than we intend for most of them, but as this is Book One and we're still talking about the genesis and background for the series, well, there you go.

*N.B. This was originally released as two seperate episodes, which have now been combined into this one MEGA-EPISODE!*

The theme-tune for our Podcast. Inspired by Morton Stevens iconic theme for the TV series based on the books, our tune takes a decidely surf-y turn, for no real reason.
