Harnessing the tumor microenvironment in lymphoma therapy

Listen Later

A deeper understanding of the characteristics, features and interactions at play in the tumor microenvironment has given great insight into the pathogenesis of lymphoma, and contributed to the identification of novel therapeutic targets. The interaction between tumor genetics and microenvironment composition could give rise to novel combination strategies. Increasing focus has been put on non-malignant cells residing in the tumor, primarily immune and stromal cells, which form the tumor microenvironment. This has provided the justification for new clinical studies and therefore the opportunity to address unmet clinical needs in lymphoma.

In today’s podcast, Laura Pasqualucci, MD, Columbia University, New York, NY, chairs a discussion with Robert Kridel, MD, MPH, PhD, Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, Toronto, ON, and Nathan Fowler, MD, University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Centre, Houston, TX, on the tumor microenvironment in lymphoma.
