What happens when the church begins to look more like culture than like Christ?
In this episode, we continue our Messy Church series through 1 Corinthians, exploring 1 Corinthians chapters 5 and 6 and the challenges the apostle Paul addressed in the church at Corinth. The early church was dealing with serious issues, sexual immorality, division, lawsuits between believers, and a growing tendency to adopt the values of the surrounding culture.
Paul’s message is clear: the church is called to be different.
Instead of copying the culture around us, followers of Jesus are called to build their lives on the truth of God’s Word. When Christians allow culture to shape their morals, relationships, and priorities, the church becomes unhealthy. But when believers return to biblical truth, humility, and Christ-centered love, the church becomes what God designed it to be.
In this episode, we explore how believers today can avoid becoming a “copycat culture” church and instead live as people who are set apart for Christ.
In this message you’ll discover:
• Why the church becomes messy when it imitates culture• What 1 Corinthians 5–6 teaches about sin, accountability, and grace• How Christians can stand on biblical truth in a changing culture• Why unity, humility, and love should define the church• How following Jesus transforms our morality, relationships, and witness
If you’re searching for Bible teaching, Christian sermons, or practical guidance for living out your faith, this episode will challenge and encourage you to build your life on God’s Word rather than the world’s opinions.
Whether you're new to faith, growing in your walk with Jesus, or leading others in discipleship, this conversation will help you understand what it truly means to live differently as a follower of Christ.
