There is a big difference in talking about it and being about it! Jesus continues his teachings on prayer in Matthew 6, praying, “Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven." Sadly, many are willing to talk about God’s Kingdom being manifest here on earth, but few are willing to be about it. 

Our prayer life should be a place where we ask for God to reveal his will in us and empower us to make an impactful difference in the world around us.

In Matthew 6, Jesus teaches his followers how to pray. As we begin studying the Lord's Prayer it's clear that the posture with which we approach God is important.

God is holy, or set apart and as we approach him in prayer we need to come with an understanding of who he is.

Last summer Jackson Mapp chose to serve as a summer missionary at Crossings Camps. This wasn’t an easy undertaking and would mean he wouldn’t be able to spend his summer pursuing the things that other people his age did. Can I Trust the Bible?

God's word is eternal. God has preserved scripture through history, even when there have been attacks against God’s word, it has survived. As time has progressed, we see the power of God’s word ever increasing. It’s history’s most influential and best-selling book and has the power to change lives even today!

Can I trust the Bible?

The answer to the question is ultimately a question. Can you trust God? God’s word is full of promises, and none are greater than that of his promise to send a redeemer.

Can we trust the bible? In order to answer this correctly we need to go back and ask if we can trust the story of Jesus. The evidence compiled from multiple eyewitnesses confirmed through in the transcription and distribution of the New Testament leaves us with an overwhelming YES!

We believe the Bible, but if we are going to trust the promise of God's word, we need to understand that it is more than just a book.

When we consider the carefulness and accuracy by which it was transcribed and consider the wholistic nature of its narrative, we can say with confidence that the Bible is the reliable source of God’s truth in our lives.

What is the purpose of having material things? In our world there is such an emphasis on getting more, more stuff, more money, more everything.

This challenge is the same for us today, not to wait for one day, but to live our lives in a way that honors God and blesses others with our resources.

As we kick off this series on stewardship it's important that we understand the reality of our lives. All that we have has been given to us by God and we are called to be good stewards or managers of those gifts.

This certainly applies to the area of our time. God has given us the gift of our time and lives to honor him and serve others.
