This week on Beyond Clean we speak with Harry Mullen, Manager of Sterile Processing at Riverside University Health System and Director of Operations for Central Sterilization Solutions. He has over 33 years in the medical and sterile processing field. In 2011, He started Central Sterilization Solutions (CSS) along with his partner James Hoxie to teach the CRCST course for technicians desiring a true career in SPD. They have experienced an increase in the average pass rate going from a 65% average to 95% on the technicians first attempt. CSS has also contracted with SPD departments to help hospitals with issues identified by the joint commission and other accreditation organizations, correct the deficiencies, and obtain clearance upon re-inspection. CSS is in the process of creating course curriculums for the CIS, CHL and CER certifications.
