The word of God brings teaching, correcting, training in righteousness and equips us for life. (2 timothy 3:16-17)

Why do we need to study the word of God?

The word of God speaks to our Spirit and life, the Bible is not just mere words the Bible is truth that go deeper than our natural mind. The Bible will get into your attitude, emotions, issues and the power of that word will begin to break, mold and shape these things.

We need to know and live by the word of God. In our nation it’s amazing, because as we get further away from God’s word, His standard and parameters, the more chaotic things get.

God’s word is important for us to understand because His nature and mankind’s nature do not change. The same issues that we are dealing with in America are the same sins that were committed thousands of years ago and God speaks to those areas of life.

As fallen human beings we place such a value on our senses, experiences, reasoning, and our wills that we treat these ourselves as omnipotent. The reality is our will, our senses, our reasoning is fundamentally flawed to the core.

But then there is the word of God that brings truths into our lives that absolutely wreck us and expose our sin, exposes our selfishness and then offers us guidance and direction on how we can overcome that sinful nature and live a life of understanding the God who created us, how we can live according to His standard and be set free from the sinful nature that wreaks havoc in our lives every day.
