Today we celebrate the culmination of our annual Vacation Bible School with a special worship service. Today's message given by Senior Pastor Jerry Barber is based on John 3:1-16 and titled, "The 'Problem' with Religion."

In 605 BC, Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, attacked Jerusalem. This attack ultimately led to the destruction of Jerusalem in 586 BC and the exile of the Southern Kingdom of Judah.

God has rescued his people from slavery, from thirst, from hunger, and from enemies. They are redeemed, but still struggle with sin.

After marching victoriously through the Red Sea, the Israelites faced three major internal obstacles and God provided for them. Now this passage shows how God brought victory against their first external opposition, the Amalekites.

After God miraculously delivered his people Israel from bondage in Egypt by opening the Red Sea, they began traveling in the desert towards the promised land. Today's passage shows both their grumbling against Moses and God's gracious provision.

After 400 years, Israel has finally left Egypt. As they go, Pharaoh's heart is once again hardened so that God is glorified, and so that all people will know that God is the Lord.

Even after nine terrible plagues, Pharaoh refused to allow the Israelites to go worship, but Exodus 12 begins introducing God's preparation for the salvation of his people and how it was to be memorialized forever.

After Pharaoh rejected Moses' demand for him to let the Israelites leave Egypt to worship, God sent plagues to show his supremacy and cause Pharaoh to change his mind.

After God called Moses to deliver Israel, he was met with layers of rejection, and this section of Exodus shows how God responded to Moses when he came to Him in desperation.

After Exodus opens with the story of Moses' birth and miraculous journey into the house of Pharaoh, chapters 2-4 begin focusing on his life as an adult and how God called him to deliver Israel.
