We started a discussion around some pretty difficult passages dealing with how we judge or hold other believers accountable for their behaviors. In Chapters 4-5 we discovered that there was some open sin being allowed in the Corinthian church to go unchallenged.

I’m sure everyone has had that conversation with a fellow believer that escalated into you or them proclaiming, “Don’t judge me bro!” This moring we want to take to you about judging and holding fellow believers accountable, and what is and isn’t acceptable. Why is the idea of serving in the church such a difficult thing for most people to do? Most statistics say that about 10% of the people do about 90% of the work in any church. If you have a church of about 250 people that works out to be about 25 people that seems to do the work. So why is serving so difficult, especially when we read in our text that “the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others.” Matt. 20:28a

This week Adam Trask gave a message on Colossians 3:1-17 about the worldly things we need to put to death.

Every culture has its unique way of doing greetings and good-byes. Of course, everybody knows here in Minnesota, we have long good-byes. The same is true as you travel about the galaxy. For instance, Vulcan’s have a saying and a hand gesture to go along with it. They say, “Live long and prosper.”

The crew of the Enterprise must follow a Federation mandate called The Prime Directive. Part of that mandate is to go out, find, and try to make contact with new life forms. Harvest’s Vision Statement and the Prime Directive are in some ways very similar.

When we read through scriptures we read about a Christian’s identity: I’m a child of God; I’m a royal priesthood, I am chosen, I’m a disciple, I’m a follower of Jesus….. These statements ground us and gives us stability in tough times. Today we are going to settle the question of Who’s Are You.
