Run to Win Moving into the final chapters of the book of Hebrews, we come what we might call the practical application of the letter. In heaven there is waiting for us both eternal life and rewards. Eternal life is a gift, based entirely on the faithfulness of Christ. Rewards are the results of our faithfulness in running the race. The writer of Hebrews reaches back into Hebrew history and gives us 6 examples of people who were far from perfect and God used them in incredible ways.

What’s your Jericho? What we have in Hebrews chapter 11 is a long list of people who were told by God to do the ridiculous, and as we come to verses 30 & 31 the scenario is the same. The Lord wanted to lead Israel into a victorious and blessed life, but standing in their way was the impregnable fortress of Jericho. And so with the believer today, God has a desire to lead the disciple of Christ into a life of victory. However, often standing in their way is an obstacle that appears to be unconquerable.
