Rev 3:7 “And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write, ‘These things says He who is holy, He who is true, “HE WHO HAS THE KEY OF DAVID, HE WHO OPENS AND NO ONE SHUTS, AND SHUTS AND NO ONE OPENS”:
Rev 3:8 “I know your works. See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it; for you have a little strength, have kept My word, and have not denied My name.
Rev 3:9 Indeed I will make those of the synagogue of Satan, who say they are Jews and are not, but lie—indeed I will make them come and worship before your feet, and to know that I have loved you.
Rev 3:10 Because you have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth.
Rev 3:11 Behold, I am coming quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown.
Rev 3:12 He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God, and he shall go out no more. I will write on him the name of My God and the name of the city of My God, the New Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from My God. And I will write on him My new name.
Rev 3:13 “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.” ‘
1. David was after God’s heart:
Act 13:22 And when He had removed him, He raised up for them David as king, to whom also He gave testimony and said, ‘I HAVE FOUND DAVID THE SON OF JESSE, A MAN AFTER MY OWN HEART, WHO WILL DO ALL MY WILL.’
Act 13:23 From this man’s seed, according to the promise, God raised up for Israel a Savior—Jesus—
Jesus was also known as the Son of David.
2. The Tabernacle of David is a portal for nations to enter the kingdom of God through accurate praise and worship of Jesus Christ:
Act 15:14 Simon has declared how God at the first visited the Gentiles to take out of them a people for His name.
Act 15:15 And with this the words of the prophets agree, just as it is written:
Act 15:16 ‘AFTER THIS I WILL RETURN AND WILL REBUILD THE TABERNACLE OF DAVID, WHICH HAS FALLEN DOWN; I WILL REBUILD ITS RUINS, AND I WILL SET IT UP;
Act 15:17 SO THAT THE REST OF MANKIND MAY SEEK THE LORD, EVEN ALL THE GENTILES WHO ARE CALLED BY MY NAME, SAYS THE LORD WHO DOES ALL THESE THINGS.’
3. David’s Heart understood that God’s gentleness is what made him great.
2Sa_22:36 “You have also given me the shield of Your salvation; Your gentleness has made me great.
Psa_18:35 You have also given me the shield of Your salvation; Your right hand has held me up, Your gentleness has made me great.
2Co_10:1 Now I, Paul, myself am pleading with you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ—who in presence am lowly among you, but being absent am bold toward you.
Gal_5:23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.
Gal_6:1 Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, considering yourself lest you also be tempted.
Eph_4:2 with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love,
Php_4:5 Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand.
1Ti_6:11 But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness.
4. David humbled himself before God and danced with all his might before the Lord.
2Sa 6:12 Now it was told King David, saying, “The LORD has blessed the house of Obed-Edom and all that belongs to him, because of the ark of God.” So David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obed-Edom to the City of David with gladness.
2Sa 6:13 And so it was, when those bearing the ark of the LORD had gone six paces, that he sacrificed oxen and fatted sheep.
2Sa 6:14 Then David danced before the LORD with all his might; and David was wearing a linen ephod.
2Sa 6:15 So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of
