Space Jam is  a cultural touchstone but sadly not a great movie.  MJ is MJ. Bugs is Bugs. And there is a plot of sorts.  But this movie is envisioned a certain urban culture that is still going strong today.  So an interesting one to look at today and try to figure out what happened.

Hate Watching is the only movie show that dares to be so long as to alienate it's core viewer base.

Do cellphones make our lives better?  Well they make them more convenient. and certainly they have saved lives, made people lots of money and make it easier when our cars break down.  But they also act as a tether to the immediacy of life.  It is hard to get away from checking the phone, looking at instagram or ordering Postmates.  But there is a cost, our attention spans are fleeting, our memories unused and time so wasted on the morst of wasteful of things like Tiktok. But dammit, I need that connection.  I can't live without it. Until I do, then just as fast I forget how powerful that drug is.....
