It’s with a heavy heart we’re saying goodbye and a hui hou (see you again) to “Have Aloha Will Travel” co-host and HAWAIʻI Magazine’s digital media specialist Taylon Faltas. As Taylon says farewell to Hawaiʻi, she shares what she’ll miss most about living in the Islands. From her favorite restaurants to her go-to beaches on Oʻahu, Taylon talks with co-hosts Catherine Toth Fox and Grace Maeda about her favorite memories from Hawaiʻi—many of which involve food.

The crew also discuss the recent lift on domestic travel restrictions to the state. For two years Hawaiʻi implemented strict policies to enter the state due to COVID-19, which included a mandatory quarantine, health questionnaires and the Safe Travels program. But on March 25, that all changed and now travel to feels like pre-pandemic times.

You read that right, it’s our interim editor and co-host of the “Have Aloha Will Travel” podcast’s last episode. Kevin Allen has been with the company for just about five years, and with Catherine Toth Fox, started the “Have Aloha Will Travel” podcast three years ago.

To send him off right, Cat returns to the show to bid him farewell. You can listen to the gang talk about some of their favorite episodes of the tenure of the HAWT podcast—which will still continue after Kevin’s departure, so be sure to stay tuned.

The last few years for local chef Keaka Lee have been a wild ride. Opening his restaurant, Kapa Hale, right in Kaimukī was a dream for him, and with the birth of his first child just around the corner, it was already looking to be an eventful year.
