Reading over the scriptures that are the walk Jesus had when He was here; it is a verbal display of the very thing we are reminded to walk in faith and not by sight. When Jesus had a group of disciples with Him immediately before His departure and when He did; some left, meaning that some walked away from His teaching and were not in “the way” any longer. They were good with Him there, but now He’s gone. Never forget that He is with us as He was from the beginning, He is and He will always be. David’s reminder in Psalm 23:1-4, Paul’s letter to the church in II Corinthians 4:16-17 and David shares further in Psalm 28;7; the reason we are is because of Him.

Jesus is called the light of the world and if we are indeed true Christians, then we too must reflect that light. Remember that the word Christian means of Christ or from Christ; if that is in fact the case in our lives, then we must endeavor to present that light up on a candlestick and not under a bushel basket. What good is a light that is not used for its intended purpose. We are called to be about our Father’s business and not just for ornamentation. Jesus gives us very definitive ideals in our being the salt of the earth, sharing the light to the world and sowing seeds, but too that we are to nourish the seeds that we have planted. Be an example of His truth. Matthew 5 is Jesus’ sermon on the mount where he reminds us of the things we need to practice. Isaiah 41:10 reminds us that Gos is with us and not to be afraid; Ephesians 5:8 is in Paul’s letter to the church and reminding them that it is important to walk in light and David in his Psalm to God; 62:5&6 that in this weary, dreary land, the Lord is our salvation, our refuge, our solid rock our fortress; in Him is our hope and peace, true peace that we can find rest in Him.

I share with you confirming word of God that is over three hundred years old and in Him, time is irrelevant. God works in His time zone and not in ours. Stop trying to figure things out in our finite minds; as His ways, thoughts and love are more profound than we can even imagine.

A borrowed phrase from a book to be used in my class that I became enamored with; the “hereness” of God. I love his being here with me and He is. In the sometimes very early morning hours, before the rising of the sun, we spend time together. The Paracletos comes and guides me through the word and leads my sharing. It is His truth, His knowledge and His wisdom that I share with you. It is his business that I am about; so that anyone that desires can have the opportunity to be saved and reconciled from out of this debt…..this darkness into His glorious light. To be adopted into the family of God, to spend eternity with the Lord and our loved ones…it does require practice because we have been infused with the ideology of this plain of existence, so we need to practice looking through the lens of Christ our Lord and King.

The truths that God speaks should be near and dear to our hearts. Everything he declares is truth and contrary to what some declare as the Word of God being full of contradictions and contriteness, wherein the reality is that those are teaching that very thing. Jesus gave warning that there would be many that come to deceive and lead us astray. Listen for the voice of the good shepherd for he will safeguard you and not lie. Whereas those that declare the lies are that not a being a good shepherd. The wolves have decided to just wait for their meal to be delivered. Not having to wait and run them down; they will be led right out to the pack and given up for a meal. Hold fast to His truths; He is faithful and as in the song; He’s never too early nor is he ever late…..right on time. We need to learn to wait upon the Lord, for His timing is impecable. Always right when NEEDED, maybe mot when WE decided when He should arrive….

The act of abiding with God must be in this day and age a practiced thing we do. However, there are manny that criticize or choose not to do so and yet, they do their Yoga and meditation that is “good”. Which leads me to a pondering of how that is alright, but meditating on our true and real God is somehow not okay. Hmmm. Throughout the Bible there are examples of those that practice being in the presence of Hashem, the Lord thy God. We find in the Old Testament that Isaac was going out into the field to meditate and practice being with God. Paul was constantly practicing being and abiding with God; no matter his circumstance. Remember that a great percentage of Paul’s letters were written while he was wither in house arrest or in prison. No matter where we are, where we go; God will be and can be found. David reminds of this FACT in Psalm 139.

We are encouraged to study His word and seek His face daily; practice being in His presence continually. Though it’s not and easy thing to do and takes practice.In the turmoil and with all that goes on around us daily, indeed practice is what we need to do.. We get His peace and the tranquility that is experienced despite all that is going on is real. His peace and not the peace as is offered by the world. A true peace of mind that is beyond all understanding and cannot be fathomed by the finite minds of man. Isaac walked out into a field to meditate on God and Rebecca was brought to him by God; Paul practiced meditating on God while in prison. Remember that about eighty percent of Paul’s letters were written while he was either in house arrest or while imprisoned. Practice being in His presence whenever you can. Listen to His speaking and practice opening your SPIRITUAL hearing and utilizing your SPIRITUAL eyesight. See Him in the sunset, the sunrise, in the smiles of those that walk by us or stop for a friendly chat. Remember that he is truly with us always. Psalm 8:1-4, Psalm 19;1&2, I Corinthians 6:19, Jeremiah 29:13.

Look around the world today and see the manifestation of the truth from the Word of God. Jesus teaches us and tells us about all that IS taking place what many have chosen to call the Olivette Dissertation. I question that term because a dissertation is actually a term given for the presentation of one being tested for the doctoral degree. Jesus was not being tested for a degree and came as the truth and the Word from the beginning. He tells us of the events that are taking place. Romans 12:1&2 speaking to the renewal of our mindset and the import of this is that it is indeed a weak link and point of attack constantly.

Walking in His truth and righteousness, called according to His purpose. Reflecting that which He has imparted to us. Though our paths may not be the same as our brothers and sisters, but as a true believer and a true Christian we are going the same way and though our paths my not converge, we are going the same way and our ultimate destination is the same and our purpose is the same.To share the truth and give others the same opportunity to be save by the blood of or Lord, forgiven, redeemed and saved to share in the Kingdom of Heaven; adopted and be His child, an heir and joint heir with our Lord Jesus in the Kingdom of Heaven.

As in the poem by Tennyson of the Charge of the Light Brigade and the ensuing deaths of six hundred because of the confusion. The charge was not the order to charge. We are given a charge, but we are also told to be prepared. Sometimes that means to wait. Jesus gave us The Great Commission, but we are reminded as He tells us in Luke to wait for the Holy Spirit and reminds us again in Acts and the Paracletos will indeed guide.
