This is not a bad thing and one should never allow themselves to feel guilty or allow those around us to impose that on us. Remember what Jesus told Martha. She CHOSE to be about the tumultuous activity and Mary CHOSE to hear the word of God. Revelation 2:4, Psalm 46 speaks to the many activities all around us daily, Luke 9:10 shares in Jesus attempting to have quiet time for the disciples set aside and yet the intrusion from the many that sought Him… Jesus took time and attempted to have time for the disciples and oft times interrupted by crowds chasing them. Mark 6:31 was Jesus instructing the disciples to take quiet time as they didn’t have time even to eat..Time alone with God and abiding with Him, only Him is a good thing, Isaiah 12:2&3, Isaiah 40:31 speaks to the waiting on God and not the throngs that may be about. Proverbs 3:5&6…

As in the letter that Jesus had John write to the Angel of the church in Smyrna, and is one of only two of the churches that Jesus did not have a negative thing to say; instead, reminding them that he knows of their tribulation and the troubling times they are dealing with. He reminded them of the reputation that he has which we read in Revelation 2:8…the first and the last, which was dead and is alive. He knows of the things that come against the church because of their being hemmed in by not only the Greeks, but the Romans and the “false faced” Jews as well. Jesus is encouraging not only the church through this letter, but he is reminding us of truth and exhorting us to be of faith and strong to hold onto the truth, for in doing that thing he directs, we too will receive a crown and be with Him in heaven. We ARE in a spiritual battle and there are many that declare their desire NOT to do anything because they’ve read the end of the book. Really?! Then you’ve chosen to just disregard what the rest of the Word of God tells us? We have the promised Word of God and the teachings of Jesus. Philippians 4 reminds us not to be anxious for anything, but too we are told in Ephesians 6 that we are in a Spiritual battle for our very soul and that of others. Don’t you think it’s worth the fight? It’s not an actual hand to hand combat, but it is spiritual and requires our trust in God, his leading of the Paracletos. The Holy Spirit. Lean not unto you own understanding, but that of the Lord thy God…Proverbs 3:5&6.

Isaiah 60 is the prophet speaking and reminding the people that despite the darkness that covers the land and the extreme darkness that covers the people, look to the Lord, Hashem, the Lord thy God; He shall shine His glory upon you and it will be seen. His unending resources He will provide in abundance. All that we need, which may not be all we want, but He knows what is needed and He will open the windows of heaven to pour out onto those that love the Lord…His supply never runs out, He never has to wait for resupply…His love is shown over and over again. Look around with spiritual eyesight, listen with spiritual hearing.

We are reminded throughout the scriptures of the power in love; that first God showed and displayed in the Old Testament and then in the New Testament we see it again displayed and taught to us by His only begotten Son; because of that love, He came and died for me and for each one that will believe and have faith in God for His love and too seek for the Holy Spirit to guide your steps. John 10 speaks to the love of Jesus and as a verbal illustration in the Good Shepherd, John 14, John 15l; His love and that even with His having to leave, the comforter will come to guide us, instruct us and give us truth. He is indeed with us, for us; with that truth Paul shares with us that in Romans 8:31 the rhetorical question; what shall we then say to these things? If Gos is for us, who can be against us? Rhetorical because Paul already knows the answer; just as Nebedkanezer knew when he asked who the fourth in the furnace was and then he answered, He is like unto the Son of God.

Remember that although uncomfortable, being forged in fire brings refinement; the finest jewelry for His treasury, the finest vessel that is fired in the kiln to finish and heat tempers steel. Most importantly, our Good Shepherd does not leave the flock nor lead them astray. Be wary and try the spirit in all things. Jesus speaks to us of the hirlings who do not care for the flock as He does. We are reminded in II Peter 2 to be aware of the false teachers and their teachings. Pray one for another and always seek truth, speak truth and be truth. Demonstrating what God has put in us.

In I John 4:1 We are reminded to try the spirit in all things. Asking the Holy Spirit to guide as there are practitioners of deception,blame and outright falsehoods that abound in the world today and as was in the days of Jesus dealing with the Pharisees, there are those that practice that same thing. Claiming to have authority that they do not have and were never given. Seek His face, His truth and His knowledge and He will show wisdom through you. Remember that God’s peace is true and he promises that, we just need ask. II Thessalonians 3:16 is a reminder of that. Too John reminds us in his first letter that God’s perfect love drives away fear, if we seek that very thing. I John 4:18 and do not forget that God did not give us a spirit of fear. His peace, love he has for us always. Remember that Jesus reminds us that the devil seeks to break in as written in John 10:10&11; the thief cometh not ,but for to steal,kill and to destroy…not only physically, but with our self awareness as well. Breaking in to disrupt our focus on God and His Word, to steal whatever we let go of, to kill whatever self worth we may have through Christ and to destroy our faith. His purpose is only to keep us from God and to not attain that which our Heavenly Father desires for us and freely gives. Invest wisely. We are reminded that Hashem, the Lord thy God is our refuge, our protector and the stronghold we should run to at all times. Oft times running from instead of to Him. Isaiah 41:13, Psalm 18:30, Psalm 36:9.
