He reflected on the team’s recent series at Clarkson — a 5–2 loss followed by a 1–0 win — and how early-season travel helps him learn more about his players. Jackson said he enjoys seeing the team bond on bus rides, playing games and sharing stories instead of being on their phones. He praised his players for their ability to bounce back from a tough loss with a strong win the next day, emphasizing the importance of being ready to play, even after not actively playing in a while. Looking ahead, Jackson discussed the upcoming weekend series against Minnesota Duluth.

UND Hockey Head Coach Dane Jackson talks about the series against the Minnesota Gophers in which the team split.  The Coach also talks about the energy in the building and how the players were looking around and taking it all in.  The coach is happy about how they are a 5 man unit up and down the lineup where there are no gaps and they work together and they do a good job cheking.  The team has to make fast decisions on the power play and the power play.  Power plays are a big deal because if you are successful you can create energy, but if it's not successful the other team can get energy off of that.  The coach also talks about the team taking lessons from both winning and losing.  The coach also previews the upcoming series against Clarkson.
