UND Women’s Basketball Head Coach Dennis Hutter reflected on the team’s recent losses to Boise State (45–65) and Elon (57–65), noting that the team is still working on building connections. He discussed the upcoming matchup with Montana, emphasizing their strong three-point shooting and the need for UND to defend well and disrupt plays. Hutter said he wants to see continued growth, improvement, and confidence. Offensively, he feels the team is in a good place, but they need to play more cohesively and trust one another. He reinforces the message that brighter days are ahead and believes the team just needs one game where everything clicks.

UND Head Hockey Coach Dane Jackson reflected on the team’s back-to-back wins over Bemidji State, 5–3 and 2–1. He noted that Bemidji was a tough, well-prepared opponent and discussed the importance of setting the tone and playing the right way, starting in the locker room. Looking ahead, Jackson talked about the upcoming Friday and Saturday games against St. Cloud State. He also emphasized the importance of keeping the team healthy in order to maintain their pace and continue competing at a high level.

UND Head Football Coach Eric Schmidt discussed the importance of recruiting the right players and helping them reach their goals in order to be successful. He emphasized building strong relationships, developing and retaining players, and guiding them to become the best versions of themselves. Schmidt also reflected on the team’s 31–6 win over Tennessee Tech, noting that while the result was strong, he believes they could have played even better. He said the players may have had the playoffs on their minds, but they still came out focused and performed well. Looking ahead to the upcoming matchup with Tarleton State, Schmidt acknowledged that they are a great football team with a talented offense. He continues to teach his players belief, confidence, and the importance of putting in the work to succeed.

This week, Bill and Alex welcome back UND Deputy Athletics Director/COO Erik Martinson to discuss his recent appointment to the NCAA DI Men’s Hockey Rules Subcommittee (1:22).
