Hawkast 1 Radio Podcast

This was a great episode to record, looking back over the 2020 MLB season and the year that was.

It's a great time of your when the 2 best teams of the MLB face off for the greatest prize in sports.

This episode was a fun one to record about a piece of baseball history. The HomeRun Record has always stood as a benchmark for greatness. Barry Bonds not only broke the record on this date, he added to it with his second blast of the game. We also talked a little bit about Brett Boone and the season he had for his first season with the Mariners.

This is part 2 of 2 and the conclusion of Episode #11 in our conversation with Mike. We get more baseball, more stories, and some raw emotions when talking about a dear friend. We hope you enjoyed the first part, and know you will love this part. Check out Mike's books at www.mikemurpheybooks.com

Author, baseball player, DHBA founder Mike Murphey, along side his wife Nancy. We talk about his award winning journalist career, we talk baseball with the fantasy camps and founding the Dave Henderson Baseball experience. There was emotion, laughter, clarity and joy throughout the entire podcast. From a remote location we had to travel to make it work, this is part 1 of 2. Enjoy. www.mikemurpheybooks.com

Episode #10 was a fun one to record. Stories from the past about these unwritten rules that many new players have forgotten. Subscribe and download the show to listen.

This was a great conversation we had about the 2020 Championship in the 35+ INMBL. Spokane Hawks vs Spokane Angels turned out to be an instant classic and we talk about it here.

This is a special episode for us, as we dive into the approach of hitting from the on deck circle to the pitch coming out of the pitchers hand. This break down works in all levels of play and can be utilized by every age bracket of players.  As a coach, I can't stress the importance of having an approach and knowing what to do in situations.

Our guest this week is 6 time Fall ball League Champion, 2 time and back to back summer league Champion, 18+ League Commissioner and the Head Coach of the Spokane Astros, Michael LaFranchise. We were able to sit down with him and talk about his love of baseball growing up, and the passion he has now for the game and why he plays the game today. Check out the Spokane Astros team page on Facebook, just search Spokane Astros as well as the Inland Northwest Mens Baseball League on facebook.
