After being on life support not too long ago, Elizabeth City State has boosted its enrollment thanks to NC Promise tuition and the leadership of Dr. Karrie G. Dixon, its chancellor since 2018. We talked about how athletics factors in to the decade-high growth of enrollment numbers it is currently experiencing, as well as how competitive the CIAA chancellors and presidents are when it comes to athletics.

Robert Colon is the seventh-leading scorer in Winston-Salem State University history. For reference, the top five were all drafted into the NBA. After leading WSSU to the 2020 CIAA Championship as a senior he's now starting his pro basketball career in Bolivia. Our Symone Stanley talked to him about the process of becoming a pro as well as his time at WSSU.
