Gabrielle Ezell joined us and shared such a convicting message! We defined the term “toxic person”, explained how to spot a toxic relationship, create healthy boundaries, forgive those who have offended us, and love those difficult people in our lives. We can say, “They handed me the scissors, so I should cut them off”, but how many times have we handed Jesus those same scissors? He has chosen to love us regardless.

Sierra joined us to talk about how purity culture has spread throughout the church & has harmed many Christians along the way, specifically in the area of modesty. We discussed why the majority of blame is cast only on women, and how every person is called to be pure and have integrity, regardless of gender. Jesus didn’t actually say much about what to wear and not wear, but He always talked about the heart. Purity culture does not fix the root issue of our intentions, but Jesus offers clear perspective on what is truly important.

Can I be depressed and a Christian? Does my anxiety mean that I’m failing God? If God cares, why does He allow suffering? Victoria Hedger walks through all those questions and shares her own experience in learning how mental illness and faith coexist. She defines prosperity gospel and how the actual Gospel explains that Christ is always with us in our suffering.

My friends Hannah & Anna join me as we define the term “father wounds”, share personal stories of past trauma and healing, God’s desire to heal those past hurts, and how much the father figure impacts the identity of their children in the family unit.

My dear friend Anna came on to define what the words “rest” & “sabbath” really mean, tell us how to avoid burnout, and encourage us why being proactive in rest is so important to our lives if we want to thrive and not just survive.
