Have you ever dreaded an upcoming medical procedure or faced a traumatic situation, where fear paralyzed you? You are not alone. Anxiety pounded my heart, as I prepped to have my first chemotherapy treatment for breast cancer. Restless and unable to sleep, I trekked out in the middle of the night before the procedure to the lake near my house. The wind whipped over the hills, white caps churning, like the fear churning my soul. I cried out, desperate to connect with God, tears spilling down my face. If you need peace today to calm an anxious heart, come join this week’s episode, 14-I Am So Worried: 3 Ways the Prince of Peace Calms the Chaos of Trauma.

Bible Verses/References for depression and healing used in this podcast:
Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. KJV
Three Ways Prince of Peace Calms the Chaos
1. Presence
-Rachel Wojo, Desperate Prayers, Embracing the Power of Prayer in Life’s Darkest Moments, “When we can’t see a solution is on its way, our minds spin with confusion. We plead with God, where’s my miracle?” We cry out, pleading for answers to our pain. “Amid the words and groans of anguish, I discovered that frenzied desperation could be transformed into dependent faith.”
-Isaiah 41;10: So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
2. Power
-Storm in Bible Mark 4: 35-41
-Quote by Leslie Gould, “Sometimes God calms the storm, but sometimes God lets the storm rage and calms His child.” https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/407329
-John 14:27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. NIV
3. Prayer
-Jesus prays for us: John 17: 9, 11 I pray for them. I am not praying for the world, but for those you have given me, for they are yours… Holy Father, protect them by the power of your name, the name you gave me, so that they may be one as we are one.
-Holy Spirit Intercedes for us, when we don’t know how to pray Romans 8:26,27
In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God.

Have you ever felt anxiety or shame from childhood trauma? Or feared God like He was a judge who would strike you down if you messed up? After the abuse occurred with a neighbor when I was five, I felt ashamed, as I reverted to wetting my bed. I became withdrawn. I trembled, always anxious when thunder rumbled, and storms blew through the town where I lived. I wished my parents would have comforted me. God seemed distant. It’s taken me decades to understand that God is more like a dad, a Father who loves me. He calls me beloved. And He calls you beloved, too. He loves you unconditionally, embracing you with grace and helping to heal trauma. If you need some encouragement today, come on in and listen to today’s episode, “Feeling Shame from Childhood Trauma? Two Ways Everlasting Father Lavishes His love to Heal Us.”

6-Do you ever grump and complain about your circumstances? Do you ever feel like God is not hearing your prayers for provision? Do you ever compare yourself to a neighbor who seems to have a lot more than you do? I hear you, friend. It was not that long ago that I stormed out of my house in Minnesota, and stomped through the chilly winter morning, trudging over rural roads toward a cemetery. It was still dark, and gray storm clouds covered the sky. Clenching my fist, I complained about my circumstances. We didn't have enough to provide for our family, I felt stuck in my home, and lacked purpose. I felt cold and hard like the graveyard stones, marking the time of people who had passed away.
When you’re depressed, it is easy to focus on everything that is going wrong and forget to thank God who created you. Practicing gratitude can free us from that pit of rehash and freshen our perspective. In today’s episode, I will explore how God helps us unclench our fists to release stress, and focus on Him, who lightens our load. Welcome to the third part of the Count Your Blessings Gratitude Series, using the acronym G.I.F.T. Episode 6 is “Feeling Grumpy? How Gratitude Frees Us and Freshens our Perspective.” Come on in and take a listen!

Do you feel hopeless from past trauma-related depression? Does isolation hinder your ability to function? Do you wish you could release limiting mindsets and believe you had worth? Do you desperately wish you could reconnect with God and receive holistic healing support, but don't know where to start?
You are not alone, friend. Welcome to Heal Depression with God.
I’m Beth, who once struggled with depression and anxiety from childhood trauma, but have been transformed by God's love. I'm a certified inner healing life coach, and I'm a cancer survivor, too. I started this podcast to encourage other women with past trauma and help them to heal. A Christian, prayer warrior, encourager and loyal friend, I help women flourish through Biblical encouragement, holistic healing strategies and mindfulness. Whenever I can, I enjoy hiking majestic mountains and savoring the sunrise. I like dancing with my grandkids, and playing board games with my family.
It was not that long ago that I sobbed in deep depression as I battled breast cancer and worked through shame from childhood sexual abuse and trauma. I believed lies of worthless and thought God had left me. The shame and sadness overwhelmed me, to the point where I considered taking my life. At my lowest point, God reached down into the pit and transformed me with His love and grace.
It wasn’t until I began connecting with my Heavenly Father by reading the Bible, practicing mindfulness, journaling and enjoying nature that I believed my life had worth. I started healing, by renewing my mind and heart with His truth. I've healed depression naturally with God's encouragement, now living joyfully and confidently. I can help you heal, too.
In this podcast, you will receive healing BIble verses, holistic healing ideas for natural, drug-free treatments. You'll also receive mindfulness tips to transform your thoughts. As you understand your God-created design, you will flourish in confidence.
If you’re ready to ditch depression and rise in resiliency and confidence, then stroll with me through mountain meadows. We will heal together, as we journey towards hope, holistic healing and new beginnings with God by our side. We'll skip in the sunshine and transform like butterflies, set free by God's truth. Join me on Heal Depression with God, where together, we can discover a new day dawning.
