What does it really mean to love like Jesus in marriage?
The Bible gives us a blueprint — and when we follow it, our spouses should be able to testify that they feel loved like Christ commands. Not just in words, but in action.
📖 1 Corinthians 13:4–7 reminds us love is patient, kind, not self-seeking, not easily angered, and keeps no record of wrongs.
📖 Galatians 5:22–23 shows us the fruit of the Spirit — love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. If the Spirit is in us, this fruit should be visible in how we love.
📖 Ephesians 5:22–25 calls husbands to love their wives as Christ loved the church, and wives to submit as unto the Lord.
📖 John 13:34–35 tells us to love one another as Christ has loved us.
📖 Colossians 3:12–14 says to clothe ourselves in compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience — and over all these, put on love.
📖 Romans 12:10 calls us to honor one another above ourselves.
This week’s episode of Healed & Holy is a call to check our receipts: does our love for our spouse look like the love Jesus modeled?
