In this session, Certified Life Coach and Trauma-Informed Wellness Practitioner Reita Johnston sat down with Lucrecia Slater (she/her), MSW, a Master of Social Work. Lucrecia is a wife, mother, military veteran, published author, magazine contributor, founder of The Soul Food Collective™ Bridging Faith + Womanhood. She’s a self-declared woman who was broken but beautifully restored by the power of God. In Him, she did (and continues to do) the deep, inner work of healing from childhood trauma, adulthood trauma, and mental illness. Lucrecia lives with mental illness and is an advocate for mental health, especially in the faith-based community. She gets to do life with her incredible husband of 8 years and their two daughters, ages 20 and 8 in the state of Tennessee. When Lucrecia’s not writing or creating, you can find her harassing her Nespresso, snuggling with her little one, or hitting the gym with her husband.
