If we want to get the most out of our experience of  the Mass, we have to do a little pregaming.  

St Paul said, “when I am weak, I am strong”. How is that possible? 

How like in the movie the Lion King , curses attack our identity and seek to rob us of the blessing of our true identity and our mission.  

The significance of Epiphany, not just for our parish, Cathedral but for our whole world is that God wants to be pursued, and he leads us not with a star but by desire.  We have three desires that need to be discerned.  

Why do we have this solemnity in honor of Mary, Mother of God?  Mother Teresa once said, “no Mary, no Jesus, no Jesus no salvation“ Mary gave birth to a person, that person is the Son of God. But Mary was not just Jesus‘ mother, at the cross Jesus gave her as a Mother to us all.
