Y’all, it has been a minute since I’ve put out an episode and I’m coming at you raw as ever to share some more about what I’ve lived through. I believe there is power in sharing our struggles/stories with others, and the point of this podcast is to help others heal; so I figured what the heck—I’ll give perspective on your host so you know more about why I put this podcast out in the first place 🤗🙌🏻 disclaimer: *45 minutes of my story & it includes possible trigger words and situations that may be difficult to listen to, please listen with discretion.* edited to add: there are times I talk about struggles and mention people in my life that kinda helped me through situations that weren’t necessarily ideal. I had opportunities come about throughout the bad from people like my sister who was pregnant and needed help; making that move at 18 & meeting a man in the process who taught me a lot (and so did his mom and dad) was one of the best things to happen to me and lead me right where I’m very grateful to be. So I do want to credit thanks to Kevin & Vicky for giving me a home to stay in, encouraging and supporting me through many things, and helping me along my path. I’m extremely grateful. I credit thanks to my sister for also teaching me a lot about myself and being a big reason my life changed as well. All these things I’ve gone through have served a purpose for where I stand today and I am just grateful to be who and where I am now! 🙌🏻

Louise L. Hay is a self help author who wrote the book that I’ll be talking about in today’s episode; it’s called “You Can Heal Your Life.” In this book it’s explained how our beliefs & ideas about ourselves are often the cause of our emotional and physical problems and how we can integrate new thought patterns to physically heal ourselves and our lives. From things like lower back pain, to pimples, to financial strain... there are new thought patterns she has created as well as affirmations that have proven to provide healing and improvement of lives all around the world. The law of attraction states that if you’re focusing on positive, more positive will come into your life. Being grateful for the reality you’re already living helps attract much more blessings & helps you appreciate what you already have even if it’s “not much” or maybe seems like the worst life ever. I promise you, when you make gratitude a priority—the good gets better and the bad dissipates. You begin to realize that even things as small as having a fresh pair of socks is truly a blessing. In part two of my last episode: “What the heck is an Enneagram?!” I’m going to go into depth about my own personality type and share how it began my journey into healing myself and improving my quality of life. Since becoming self aware and learning not only my personality type-but that of others has helped me develop much more compassion for myself and other human beings. It has allowed me to feel like I’m not alone in the world with my own beliefs and actions that drive me towards making choices for my life.
