More About Citrine:

Citrine is a yellow to golden brown form of quartz, with most pieces a golden yellow that’s reminiscent of topaz. It forms naturally when trace amounts of lithium and aluminum are trapped in quartz, as it crystallizes. This is the same process that forms all colored quartz; the only differences being the trace minerals involved and the geologic conditions and temperatures the Quartz is exposed to. In fact, most citrine available commercially is made by heating amethyst (which takes its color from iron molecules), as naturally occurring citrine is rare.

Citrine is known as the “Merchant’s Stone,” because it is associated with success and prosperity. Older references are rare because it was confused with topaz until relatively recent times, but this use has been consistent. Citrine has historically been used to aid ailments of the digestive system.
