Massage Therapy is great for Jaw Pain, Headaches, Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ), and more! Because you are working on the jaw and temple area, the pressure needs to be much much lighter (on the masseter muscle) than working on say someone's shoulders. Not only can massage be done externally on the jaw but in a clinical situation (wearing a glove) a massage therapist can work internally on the jaw muscles (pterygoid). This is kind of like when a baby is teething. Work in a downward motion to help move fluid and toxins out of the jaw and towards the heart. After a jaw massage you should be more relaxed, talk easier, and have less pain.
