Myofascial Release Technique (MRT) is a type of Massage Therapy. Myo refers to muscle and Fascial refers to skin. Each muscle has a "wrapping" known as fascial. Scar tissue is adhesions or knots when the fascial tissue is stuck. Myofascial is a specific massage technique of twisting, kneading, and stretching the skin without massage lotion. MRT works because it breaks up the adhesions so the muscle can move freely.
