Marco is a case study that we utilized today to speak about and share in this very rare disease. Nicolaides Baraister Syndrome, or NCBRS, is characterized by a severe developmental delay, intellectual disability, and speech. 

Upon a diagnosis of WS—Williams Syndrome, Marco was referred to a neurologist for further examination. It was determined that he presented well for the disease. 

There is no cure for this disease, but treatment can help with the management of the symptoms. In the community of Heath and Healing, Dealing with Trauma and Addiction, there's support and prayer for the many families that are encountering issues such as Marco and his family.

This is and has been a debate of who God's chosen people are. I don't profess to be the expert, but I looked into the subject and wanted to share it with you. I have my personal opinions about it, yet I will refrain from sharing them here.

The lily-white movement began within the Republican Party after the Civil War. A fight developed not only in Texas but also across the South between white and Black factions for control of the "newly" formed party.

An organized lily-white movement had begun in Texas during the mid-1800s. Specifically 1870. In 1884 the lily-whites started a concerted drive for mastery, party takeover, and control. Southern GOP leaders, black and white, relied upon the dispensation of federal jobs to maintain their states' organization. The lily-white Republicans appealed to racism to establish their "now" party as a viable alternative for Southern Democrats. 

As a result, Blacks increasingly lost influence and power in the Republican Party. The southern democratic leadership greatly discouraged Black membership, and many people of color felt they had no political party in which to participate.

Language is far more than a collection of words, grammar, and sounds. As the old saying goes, “A man’s language is the mirror of his mind.” Language is a body of words and the systems for their use common to a people who are of the same community or nation, geographical area, or cultural tradition.

Preserving a language is preserving a treasure chest of memories and traditions. In today’s interconnected world, many people speak multiple languages. This ability offers far more than practical advantages. Different languages often evoke different emotions. 

The challenge before us is not merely to speak more but to speak thoughtfully. In an age where words travel at the speed of light, wisdom must travel with them. American English may not be native to us; the agreement of African American Vernacular English, AAVE, was the token for American Africans. Hot car deaths are a thing. In fact the numbers are dangerously higher than anticipated. 1000 children have died in car deaths since 1990. 37 children under the age of 15 die each year from heatstroke, or vehicle hyperthermia. 

Also, have you ever heard of "forgotten "Baby Syndrome?" This refers to when a parent accidentally leaves a baby or child in a locked car and walks away without thinking about their child or children in the back seat. 

We should not judge these parents—remember these are accidents. Sometimes motor memory kicks in and you are preoccupied with tasks and future duties. Even a well-intentioned loving parent gets distracted, and 56% of car deaths still occur. 

As we get better with technology and education, we must remember our imperfect brains need assistance—our human memory is faulty and can fail us at any time. Children are the focus here, but an elderly loved one should not be left in hot cars either.

The name Viola may not ring a bell in circles you reside in; however, the name Viola Ford-Fletcher is a common name, one not to be forgotten. Ms. Fletcher, affectionately known as "Mother Fletcher," was one of the last survivors of the 1921 horrific tragedies committed by an all-white mob in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  

Known as the "Black Wall Street" massacre, a lie was published in the newspaper of a colored man accused of assaulting a woman of non-color. How many stories have we heard of this magnitude that were untrue? Yes, white women were assaulted, but many of them were assaulted by white men who claimed it was a man of color. 

Even while attempting to bring justice to the story, the very system that is in place denied then and still denies people of color justice and healing today, yet the racist perpetrators walk free and are not held accountable. 

"Don't let them bury my story!" 

The Light will always shine in darkness—you may think on this side, no justice nor peace is on your side, but retribution is ours in the Holies of Holies. Vengeance is mine; I will repay. Says the Lord!

Oh, it may not be sexy to talk about history or religious history, but I think you'll enjoy the information here. There is the era of constructive theology, where Black thinkers, pastors, and activists reimagine what Christianity can be even as they engage Islam, Judaism, Afro-Caribbean religions, and Buddhism.  Their work suggests and insists that theology cannot stop at the boundaries of the church but must address the entire ecology of race, faith, and belonging. 

Mentioning each religion, their work expands Black theology into genuine interfaith dialogue, proving that liberation cannot be confined to Christian or Muslim frameworks. 

When you think about the history of the Christian church and how it was weaponized against people of color and others, people often discredit the western system of belief and shun the practice. Also, the continued and consistent misuse of the books of scriptures has had lasting trauma and confusion.

Many theologians consider scripture as their primary reference, while philosophy, history, archaeology, and other sources are secondary. Psychology utilizes reason, observation of nature, and experiment. Also, they rely on philosophical sources. 

There are two models of conversation regarding psychology and theology. Models of integration: Explicit integration and implicit integration. 

Both explicit and implicit integration offer valuable pathways for addressing the intersection of theology and psychology in Christian psychotherapy. While explicit provides a robust framework for faith-centered clients, implicit ensures inclusivity and adaptability in diverse therapeutic contexts. 

Galatians 5:22-23 "The fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against such things." Can we rely on those spiritual attributes and not counseling as a source or can we integrate the sources for our well-being?
