Welcome to "The Health, Happiness, and Planet" podcast. In today's episode, we will be discussing the importance of sustainability for the planet.
As someone who has served as the head of Corporate Social Responsibility at a leading international organization, I have had the opportunity to witness firsthand several unsustainable mindsets that hinder progress towards a greener future. In this episode, I'll highlight six of the most common unsustainable mindsets that I've encountered while working on environmental issues.
This will enable you to evaluate your own stance and identify any unsustainable practices that you may unconsciously be supporting. It's crucial that we assess our current habits and take steps towards adopting sustainable ones, as the traditional ways of doing things have contributed to the current environmental issues we're facing.
We all strive for continuous improvement, and it's essential that we apply this approach to taking care of our planet - our beautiful Mother Earth.

[00:45] The first disempowering and unsustainable mindset that I frequently come across is: I do not need to worry about the health of the planet. I just need to worry about my own health and the wellbeing of my family.
[03:15] Unsustainable mindset number 2 I frequently hear is: I do not believe that the environmental threats are real or impactful. I don’t understand what the big fuss is all about.
[06:03] Unsustainable Mindset number 3: I am just one person. I do not have enough leverage to make a significant impact. I'll let the influencers, government, and regulatory agencies take action. If they're not acting, the problem cannot be that bad. They have access to all the intelligence, so if they're not doing anything, then it's probably “ok”.
[10:05] Unsustainable mindset number 4: I do not know any “Continuous Improvement” techniques.
[12:05] Unsustainable mindset number 5: consumerism: Our creativity on how to be happier with less is often underdeveloped as we tend to buy more and more seeking short-term happiness.
[15:25] Unsustainable mindset 6: Also known as the “Blind-Spot Mindset” or I might also call it the “ostrich mindset”: This mindset is about not knowing what end-to-end systems our money is supporting.
