We talk a lot about setting boundaries with other people—but what happens when the person crossing your boundaries is you?
In this episode of Healthy Boundaries for Moms, Lori turns the boundary conversation inward and explores what it means to develop mature self-boundaries. From our time and money to our habits, words, reactions, and commitments, healthy boundaries require us to recognize what actually belongs to us and take ownership of it.
You'll learn five questions to help uncover where you may be getting out of bounds with yourself, how to look beneath the behavior to identify the real need, and why failure doesn't mean your boundary isn't working.
We'll also talk about receiving honest feedback from safe people and allowing consequences to become teachers instead of continually rescuing ourselves from them.
Self-boundaries aren't about becoming harder on yourself. They're about taking responsibility for yourself—with grace, truth, and the help of the Holy Spirit.
What symptoms or consequences in my life could be pointing to an area where I need a stronger boundary with myself? What's underneath this pattern, and what need am I actually trying to meet? What is one boundary I can practice this week that would help me take better responsibility for what God has entrusted to me?RELATED EPISODES
